Baghdad will hold the eighteenth annual meeting of the Union of Arab Securities Authorities

Iraq participated as a
representative to Iraq Securities Commission at the sixteenth annual meeting of the Union of Arab Securities Authorities,
in the presence of the Chairman of Iraq Securities Commission, Mr. Hassan Al-ukaily, which was held in Muscat / Sultanate of Oman,
in order to cooperate in the development of Arab financial markets through Upgrading
the legislative and regulatory aspects.
Al-ukaily mentioned that
the active participations in the regional and international meetings have a
significant impact on the national economy.
He also explained that the Union
of Arab Securities Authorities,
decided to hold the eighteenth annual meeting in Baghdad.
A statement by the commission,
where the Iraqi News Agency (INA), received a copy, in the same context, states
that:
the Iraqi Stock Exchange,
represented by the director of the Board of Governors, Thaer Al-Mukhtar, and in
the presence of the Chairman of Iraq Securities Commission, Hassan Al-ukaily,
and the expert CEO, Taha Ahmed Abdu salam, and the Iraqi Embassy in Muscat/Oman,
they all signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Muscat Securities
Exchange
represented by CEO Haitham
Al Salmi in the presence of the CEO of Muscat Company for clearing house and a
number of boards directors with the aim to develop relations and enhancing
cooperation between
the two parties in the
following areas:
1- Enhancing the Efficiency
of securities markets through exchanging experiences, information and advisory
services related to securities
trading.
2. Facilitate the
participation of brokers in training and development programs.
3. Realignment of listing
requirements - and the promotion of joint and exchangeable listing.
4. Setting the basic rules
for the development of index.
5. Developing
sustainability, environmental and social corporate governance among the two
parties.
6. seeking ways of
cooperation in the field of educating and investors awareness concerning the securities
markets.
7. Cooperation in any other
areas that would develop the activity of the securities markets.
The
statement continued, " Iraqi Securities Commission and the Iraq Stock Exchange
had implemented a strategy during 2022 that relied on cooperation with Arab securities
markets and developing the activity of brokerage companies, raising the
capabilities of brokers in dealings with Investors, financial and information
analysis, follow-up of companies' disclosure and return the stock joint companies
to trading in cooperation with the sectoral authorities.
