The Chairman of Iraq Securities Commission: The value of traded stocks during the first half of the year reached 321 billion dinars

The Chairman of the Securities Commission, Faisal Al-Haimus, announced today, Tuesday, the trading indicators for stocks in Iraq Stock Exchange during the first half of 2024. The value of the traded stocks amounted to 321,951,474,384 Iraqi dinars.

Al-Haimus stated in a press statement: "The number of shares traded during the first half of this year reached 281,150,586,973 shares," noting that "the number of listed and registered companies in the market reached 109 joint-stock companies, distributed between regular and secondary trading platforms and non-listed companies."

 

Al-Haimus added: "The government bonds traded were building bonds with two issuances and reconstruction bonds with three issuances," emphasizing that "the number of companies registered on the non-listed companies platform ISX-OTC rose to 6 companies after the acceptance of three new companies at the end of June 2024.

The Chairman of Iraq the Securities Commission clarified that "the number of companies whose shares were traded during the first half of the year reached 87 companies, with the number of shares traded reaching 281,150,586,973 shares, and the value of the traded stocks amounted to 321,951,474,384 dinars.

Al-Haimus pointed out that "the ISX60 index closed in the last session of June at 882.03, recording a decrease of 1.25% compared to the close of 2023, while the ISX15 index closed at 1005.49 points, achieving an increase of 0.5% compared to its starting value in the benchmark session.

Al-Haimus concluded his statement by saying: "The number of executed contracts during the first half of the year reached 86,268 contracts, reflecting continuous activity and dynamic movement in the Iraq Stock Exchange.
