Does buying a share mean owning a part of the company

Purchasing a share represents ownership of a portion of a joint-stock company capital. The investor thereby becomes a shareholder, with an ownership percentage proportional to the number of shares held. This grants the investor certain rights, including the right to receive dividend distributions when declared and to participate in voting on certain decisions, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

However, share ownership does not mean direct ownership of the company assets, nor does it guarantee profits. Share values are influenced by the company performance and Exchange conditions. Therefore, understanding shareholders’ rights and obligations, as well as the nature of listed companies, is an essential step towards making informed and well-considered investment decisions.
