His Excellency the Chairman of Iraq Securities Commission Participates in the Fifth International Scientific Conference “In the Era of Contemporary Transformations”

His Excellency the Chairman of Iraq Securities Commission participated today in the proceedings of the Fifth International Scientific Conference "In the Era of Contemporary Transformations," organized by the Financial and Accounting Training Center at the Ministry of Finance, under the patronage of the Minister of Finance and with the participation of a distinguished group of researchers, academics, experts, and representatives of government institutions.

In his speech, His Excellency emphasized that financial markets are a fundamental pillar in building a diversified economy capable of facing challenges, noting that Iraq, as it moves toward an important stage of economic transformation, requires the development of modern financial markets characterized by efficiency, reliability, and the ability to attract both local and foreign investment.

He further explained that over the past years, the Securities Commission has established solid foundations for reform and development by enhancing transparency, regulatory discipline, updating legislative and supervisory frameworks, and working to create an environment conducive to transitioning to more advanced technological systems in line with contemporary requirements.

His Excellency highlighted that trust is the cornerstone for the future of financial markets, built through combating corruption, consolidating governance principles, developing competencies, and adopting technology as a tool for reform. He confirmed the Commission’s commitment to making the Iraq Stock Exchange an attractive, advanced market aligned with international standards.

He concluded by emphasizing the importance of the conference outcomes in supporting the financial and economic development path in Iraq, expressing his gratitude to the organizers and to all participating researchers and experts.
