The Securities Commission in Iraq received today a letter from the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) on the acceptance of the Council of the Organization to join Iraq as a Associate Member starting from January 2019. The letter of acceptance includes inviting Iraq to participate in the annual meeting of heads of international securities Commissions, in Australia.

It is reported that, the process of joining the membership to this organization will allow Iraq to join the Global and emerging markets Commission.

It is worth noting, the joining contributes In the process of strengthening Iraq's economic status helping to attract investors in securities that support Iraq's macroeconomic.

It should be noted that the process of joining the International Organization of Securities Commissions requires many years, but our Commission was able to complete the requirements for membership in a few months.
