Iraq holds the annual conference to support women under the slogan

In implementation of the National Strategy for Iraqi Women (2023-2030), and under the auspices of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers/ National Department for Iraqi Women, the annual conference was held under the theme "Together for the Safety and Security of Women in Lebanon and Palestine," with the aim of supporting women in both countries and enhancing humanitarian and relief efforts.

The discussion forum took place at Babel Hotel, in the Gilgamesh  Hall, and included two sessions: the first focused on promoting women's leadership and security within the agenda of stability and development in Iraq, while the second addressed the role of women in conflict resolution and peacebuilding.

The conference was attended by His Excellency the Lebanese Ambassador, the representative of the Palestinian Ambassador, Mr. Ejay Madiouly, the UN Women Representative in Iraq, and Ms. Hanan Fares Ali, the representative of the Securities Commission and Head of the Women's Rights and Community Development Division, alongside representatives from various ministries and governmental bodies.

This conference comes in line with Iraq's governmental approach in supporting the Lebanese and Palestinian peoples and enhancing solidarity through humanitarian initiatives aimed at empowering women and strengthening their role in achieving security and peace.
