The Securities Commission participated in the Women’s Political Forum, which was organized by the National Security Adviser, in cooperation with the Iraqi parliament Council and in the presence of the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Mr. Claudio Cordone, and women members of the Iraqi parliament Council, as well as political and academic figures and officials Governmental.
The forum comes in implementation of what was stated in the ministerial curriculum of the government of Mr. Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani, in order to empower women and achieve their aspirations, and facilitate their opportunities to contribute to the state's support alongside men.
The National Security Adviser, Mr. Qassem Al-Araji, opened the forum's work with a speech during which he referred to the great role of Iraqi women at the functional and social level, stressing that Iraqi women were present in all fields, and were the prominent voice in Parliament and a partner alongside men in the security forces, and in all fields. State institutions.
For his part, the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq expressed the support of the UNAMI mission to advance women's participation in the upcoming elections, and its commitment to work with the Supreme Committee to empower women politically and enhance their role.
Ms. Hanan Fares, a representative of the Securities Commission, attended the forum. Participants discussed topics related to ways to empower women in the field of political work and their participation in elections, as well as the role of the Parliamentary Women's Committee and the Elections Law, in addition to discussing ways to enhance the role of women in society and empower them.
